Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 1 pound bowtie pasta
Meat
- 1 pound ground beef
Sauce
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
- Brown Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Once done, remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: Using the same skillet, add butter and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Melt Cream Cheese: Add cream cheese to the skillet and stir continuously until fully melted and blended with the aromatics.
- Add Cream and Cheese: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly, then stir in grated Parmesan cheese. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional Cajun seasoning, salt, or pepper if needed.
- Combine Beef and Sauce: Return the cooked, spiced ground beef to the skillet and mix well to coat the meat evenly with the sauce.
- Mix Pasta: Add the drained bowtie pasta to the skillet and gently fold everything together until the pasta is fully coated with the creamy Cajun Alfredo sauce. Warm through for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve: Plate the pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes along with the Cajun seasoning.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best melting quality and flavor.
- To make this dish lighter, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream but expect a slightly thinner sauce.
- Fresh parsley is optional but adds a nice color contrast and fresh flavor element.
- The dish can be reheated gently on the stovetop with a splash of cream to loosen the sauce if it thickens too much.
