  • Yield: 8 crescent rolls 1x
  • Diet: Low Salt

Description

Cheesy Chicken Crescent Rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack featuring tender shredded chicken mixed with creamy cheeses and aromatic herbs, all wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for gatherings, game days, or a quick savory treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Other

  • Olive oil or cooking spray, for greasing the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined.
  3. Prepare the dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it on a clean, flat surface. Separate the dough into individual triangles.
  4. Fill and roll: Take one triangle of dough and place a spoonful of the chicken and cheese filling on the wider end. Roll the dough towards the pointed end, folding the sides in slightly to enclose the filling as you roll.
  5. Place on baking sheet: Arrange the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, placing them with the point side down to keep them sealed. Repeat the process with remaining dough and filling.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and let the crescent rolls cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute cooked rotisserie chicken if you want to save time.
  • Add a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes for a spicy twist.
  • Fresh parsley adds a brighter flavor compared to dried parsley.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • These rolls are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes.
