Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 tubes refrigerated cinnamon rolls (8 cinnamon rolls each, 351 grams or 12 oz)
- 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Open both tubes of refrigerated cinnamon rolls, unroll each roll, and cut them into roughly 1-inch pieces. Spread these pieces evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Prepare Custard Mixture: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, pure maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Combine Cinnamon Rolls & Custard: Slowly pour the custard mixture evenly over the cut-up cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish, making sure all pieces are well saturated with the liquid.
- Add Butter: Drizzle the melted salted butter evenly on top of the casserole to add richness and enhance browning.
- Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the casserole is puffed, golden brown on the edges, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cooling and Serving: Once baked, allow the casserole to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm to enjoy the gooey, cinnamon-flavored casserole perfectly.
Notes
- For an extra crunch, sprinkle chopped nuts such as pecans or walnuts over the top before baking.
- Feel free to add a drizzle of cream cheese glaze after baking for added sweetness and richness.
- This casserole can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight before baking; just add a few extra minutes to baking time if chilled.
- Use fresh cinnamon rolls if refrigerated versions aren’t available; adjust cut size accordingly.
