  • Author: Lily
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups offer a comforting twist on the classic French dip sandwich, combining tender roast beef, melted mozzarella or provolone cheese, and flavorful seasonings all wrapped in soft flour tortillas. Baked to a golden perfection and served with a savory au jus dipping sauce, these roll ups are perfect for a satisfying appetizer or a fun meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Roll Ups

  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef (deli style or leftover)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Au Jus

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Assemble Roll Ups: Lay each flour tortilla flat on a clean surface, then neatly layer thinly sliced roast beef and shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese down the center of each tortilla.
  3. Roll Tortillas: Carefully roll each tortilla tightly, making sure the filling stays inside, and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet for even cooking and to keep them closed.
  4. Butter and Season: Brush the tops of the rolled tortillas with melted butter and evenly sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to add a flavorful crust once baked.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the tortillas turn golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  6. Prepare Au Jus: While the roll ups bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer the mixture over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes to develop rich flavor.
  7. Serve: Remove the roll ups from the oven, slice them into manageable pieces, and serve warm alongside the au jus for dipping to enjoy a juicy, flavorful bite every time.

Notes

  • You can use leftover roast beef or high-quality deli-style for convenience.
  • Feel free to substitute shredded mozzarella with provolone for a slightly different cheese flavor.
  • Adjust seasoning amounts in the au jus according to taste preference.
  • These roll ups reheat well and can be prepared ahead of time for an easy party appetizer.
  • Try adding sautéed onions or peppers inside the roll ups for extra flavor and texture.
