  • Author: Lily
  • Total Time: 4 hours 25 minutes
  • Yield: 36 squares 1x

Description

This Peppermint Swirl Fudge is a festive and delicious holiday treat combining creamy white and semi-sweet chocolate with a refreshing peppermint flavor. Swirled together and topped with crushed peppermint candies, this no-bake fudge is easy to make and perfect for gifting or enjoying during the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixtures

  • 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring (optional for extra swirl effect)

Topping

  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving the paper to overhang the edges to allow for easy removal of the fudge once set.
  2. Melt Chocolate: In two separate bowls, melt the white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips either in the microwave by heating in 30-second intervals and stirring between, or alternatively, use a double boiler on the stove to melt them gently.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Stir half of the sweetened condensed milk into each bowl of melted chocolate until the mixtures are smooth and fully combined.
  4. Add Peppermint: Add the peppermint extract to the white chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly to infuse the peppermint flavor.
  5. Create Layers: Pour half of the semi-sweet chocolate mixture evenly into the prepared pan, then pour half of the white chocolate mixture on top. Repeat with the remaining semi-sweet and white chocolate mixtures to create layered effect. Use a knife to gently swirl the layers together to create a marbled peppermint swirl pattern.
  6. Add Peppermint Candies: Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies evenly over the top of the fudge. For a more vibrant red swirl effect, add a few drops of red food coloring and swirl lightly with a toothpick.
  7. Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or until the fudge is firm and set.
  8. Serve: Lift the fudge out of the pan by holding onto the overhanging parchment paper, cut into squares, and serve chilled.

Notes

  • You can substitute candy canes for the crushed peppermint candies if preferred.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for best flavor and texture.
  • Ensure all utensils and bowls are completely dry when melting chocolate to avoid seizing.
  • Optionally add red food coloring to enhance holiday-themed appearance.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
