Bacon:

  • 5 slices diced bacon

Beef:

Red Wine Sauce:

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce

Flavorings:

  • ¼ cup flour
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons minced thyme

Vegetables:

  • 5 medium sliced carrots
  • 1 pound baby potatoes (tri-color)
  • 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms

Garnish:

  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Bacon: In a large skillet, cook diced bacon until crisp. Add to the slow cooker.
  2. Brown Beef: Season beef with salt and pepper, then brown in the skillet. Transfer beef to the slow cooker.
  3. Prepare Sauce: Deglaze the skillet with red wine, then add chicken broth, tomato sauce, soy sauce, and flour. Pour sauce into the slow cooker.
