  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 9 bars (3x3 inch pieces) 1x

Description

These Soft Baked Maple Donut Bars combine the comforting flavors of cinnamon and maple syrup into a moist, cake-like treat perfect for breakfast or dessert. With a tender crumb and a sweet maple glaze drizzle, they’re easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (cooled)

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish and line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the maple syrup, milk, and melted butter until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Gently pour the wet ingredient mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir just until the batter is combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bars tender.
  5. Pour and Spread Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula for uniform baking.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Glaze: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack. Mix the powdered sugar with milk to make a smooth glaze and drizzle it over the cooled bars.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and use dairy-free butter.
  • Ensure eggs are at room temperature for better mixing and texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain softness in the bars.
  • Allow bars to cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
  • Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
