Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup milk (whole or non-dairy)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (cooled)
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish and line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make removal easier.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the maple syrup, milk, and melted butter until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Combine Ingredients: Gently pour the wet ingredient mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir just until the batter is combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the bars tender.
- Pour and Spread Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula for uniform baking.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Glaze: Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack. Mix the powdered sugar with milk to make a smooth glaze and drizzle it over the cooled bars.
Notes
- For a dairy-free option, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and use dairy-free butter.
- Ensure eggs are at room temperature for better mixing and texture.
- Do not overmix the batter to maintain softness in the bars.
- Allow bars to cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
- Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
