Sandwich Ingredients
- 1 package of 12 King’s Hawaiian rolls
- 1 pound ground pork breakfast sausage
- 16 slices American cheese (from an 8 oz. package; Boar’s Head suggested)
- 6 large eggs
- 6 slices thick bacon, cooked and chopped
- Salt and pepper, as desired
- 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- Everything bagel seasoning, for sprinkling
- Finely chopped chives, if desired, for garnish
Sriracha Mayo Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1–2 tablespoons sriracha or your favorite hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup and transferring the sliders later.
- Cook sausage and scramble eggs: In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork sausage until no longer pink and fully cooked. Transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Using the same skillet, scramble the eggs, seasoning them with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside.
- Prepare rolls and assemble layers: Cut the package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating individual rolls. Arrange the bottom half on the prepared sheet pan. Layer 8 slices of American cheese evenly over the rolls, followed by the cooked sausage, chopped bacon, scrambled eggs, and the remaining 8 cheese slices.
- Top rolls and season: Place the top half of the rolls over the layered ingredients. Brush the tops generously with melted unsalted butter, then sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning to add flavor and texture.
- Bake the assembled sliders: Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 5 to 10 minutes until the tops are golden brown, cheese is melted, and everything is heated through.
- Prepare sriracha mayo and serve: While baking, whisk together mayo, sriracha, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt to create a spicy dipping sauce. After baking, garnish the sliders with chopped chives if desired, slice the assembled sandwich into individual servings, and serve hot with the sriracha mayo on the side.
Notes
- The everything bagel seasoning adds a wonderful crunch and savory flavor, but you can omit it for a milder sandwich.
- Feel free to substitute the pork sausage with turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for variation.
- Make sure to cook the bacon until crispy for the best texture contrast.
- The sriracha mayo can be adjusted to your spice preference by varying the amount of sriracha.
- For easier serving, slice the assembled slider sandwich before baking, but keep in mind some cheese melt may leak out.
